1. Overview

Trip Replay is designed with privacy at its core. We believe your travel data belongs to you. Unlike traditional cloud-based services, our application processes your data locally on your device.

2. Data We Process

Trip Data and Locations

When you create a journey, the location names, coordinates, and transport modes you enter are stored only in your browser's local storage. This data never leaves your device and is never sent to our servers.

Video Generation

The video encoding process happens entirely within your web browser using your device's processing power. We do not see, store, or have access to the videos you create.

3. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how users interact with our site so we can improve the experience. GA4 may collect:

  • Approximate geographic location (City/Country)
  • Device type and browser information
  • Pages visited and duration
  • Basic interaction events (e.g., clicking the "Export" button)

Note: We do NOT send your specific trip coordinates or location data to Google Analytics.

4. Cookies

We use essential items in local storage to remember your journeys. Additionally, Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish unique users. You can find more details in our Cookie Policy.

5. Third-Party Services

Our application uses several third-party services to provide its functionality:

  • Map Data: We use OpenStreetMap tiles and geometry to display the globe and maps. This data is governed by the OpenStreetMap License.
  • Search API: City and location searches are performed via the Nominatim API (provided by OpenStreetMap). When you search for a city, your query is sent to their servers to provide coordinates.
  • Analytics: As mentioned above, we use Google Analytics 4 for basic usage stats.

These providers may receive your IP address to serve requests correctly, but they do not receive your specific itinerary data through us.
